Dear families
Welcome to March! March is mois de la francophonie/Alberta Francophonie Month. We are kicking off le mois de la francophonie by welcoming back the French musical duo, Folklofolie (André Varin & Marie-Claude Gagnon) on Thursday, March 6. Folklofolie offers endless musical diversity. Through a wide repertoire ranging from folklore to traditional, from Celtic to folk. The group offers brilliant and entertaining musical performances and all en français! Students have also been engaged in Manie Musicale, an annual bracket-style competition for students and teachers of French. Similar to March Madness basketball in the United States, participants try to predict which of 16 francophone songs will be the most popular. Once the tournament starts, voters decide which song will advance to the next round until we have a champion. The best part? Students learn French while having fun with students from all over the world.
Ramadan Mubarak! Ramandan begins this evening at sunset. All of our students who will be fasting will have the option to have a separate space to play some games while the other students are eating their lunch, before all students go outside for recess.
Learn and Share | School Planning
We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That’s why we are sharing information about school planning and asking you to share your perspectives.
Share your perspectives through an online survey open from February 21 to March 31. Watch this short video to learn about the planning work schools do to improve and support student learning.
Please see our Planning and Engagement Presentation 2024-2025 of our school development plan and school budget and fees information. We would be grateful if you could take the time to read through the slides before sharing your perspectives through our online survey.
The purpose of this survey is to gather feedback from families on school planning, which includes the school development plan, school budget, and school fees. When students, staff and families work closely together, students experience greater success. Click HERE for online survey
Thank you!
