Dear King George School Families,
As another school year comes to a close, it is hard to believe how quickly time has passed. Looking back on the year, I am filled with gratitude for the many people who contribute to making our school such a vibrant, caring, and supportive place for children to learn and grow.
To our families, thank you for your partnership and support throughout the year. Your encouragement at home, involvement in school activities, and commitment to your children's learning help create the strong foundation that allows our students to thrive. We are grateful for the trust you place in us each day.
I would also like to extend a special thank you to our School Council. Their generosity, dedication, and tireless efforts have had a tremendous impact on our school community. Events such as family dances and movie nights create opportunities for connection, celebration, and belonging. Through fundraising and advocacy, they have helped provide classroom resources, learning materials, equipment, and opportunities that enrich student learning, and enhance safety for all. Their support has also helped make field trips and artist residencies more accessible to students and families. They also go above and beyond to ensure our staff feel appreciated through thoughtful gestures, lunches, treats, and gifts throughout the year. We are fortunate to have such a caring and committed group of volunteers, and we are deeply grateful for all they do.
To our dedicated staff, thank you for the passion, expertise, and care you bring to your work each day. Your commitment to creating engaging learning experiences and nurturing environments makes a lasting difference in the lives of our students.
Finally, to our Grade 5 students and families, congratulations as you prepare for the next chapter of your educational journey. We are proud of all you have accomplished during your time at King George and know you will continue to grow, learn, and succeed in the years ahead. Once a King George student, always a part of the King George family.

Lost & Found
If you would like to look through the lost & found items, you are welcome to come in on Monday, June 29th before 12:00 p.m. All remaining items will be removed by 12:00 p.m and donated.
No class/teacher requests
As we begin planning for the 2026–27 school year, this is a friendly reminder that we do not accept requests for specific teachers. We are currently finalizing staffing and class configurations and do not confirm teacher assignments until late August.
Families will receive an email from their child's teacher(s) by 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28 with information about the first day of school on Monday, August 31.
If there is a reason why your child should not be placed with a particular teacher, please notify the school in writing by Tuesday, June 30.
Our staff invest significant time and care in creating balanced classes that support student success. Class placements are based on a variety of factors, including academic and social-emotional needs, learning dynamics, and information shared by families. Whenever possible, students are also placed with at least one preferred learning peer, if identified.
As considerable thought goes into the placement process, class placements and teacher assignments will not be changed in August.

Construction on the grounds during the summer
Please be advised that a construction project will take place on the east side of the school from June 29th through August 26th .
For your safety, please stay clear of the construction area, as it will be an active work site throughout this period. The area will be securely fenced and clearly marked to restrict access.
The playground will remain open and available for use during the summer months; however, there may be temporary closures if contractors require additional space to maintain a safe buffer between the public and the construction site.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we complete these important improvements.
