Dear King George Families,
The darker mornings are definitely here! As students arrive at and depart from school each day, please help us keep everyone safe by using designated crosswalks and encouraging children to do the same. These small habits help keep our community safe and model good pedestrian practices for our young learners.
We are also excited to once again support the Veterans Food Bank this year. King George families are always incredibly generous, and we are grateful for the many ways our community comes together to support others. If you are able, please consider sending in one or more donation items over the next few weeks. Every contribution, no matter the size, is appreciated.
Health Notice
We currently have several reported cases of head lice across various grades. As a precaution, we ask all parents and guardians to check their child's head frequently.
For more information about head lice, please visit Alberta Health Services: How to Treat Head Lice.
If your child has head lice, please contact the school to let us know. Additional questions or concerns can be directed to Alberta Health Link by calling 811.
Thank you for helping us keep our school community healthy!
School Spirit Day – Friday, October 30
On Friday, October 30, students are welcome to wear costumes to school.
If your child chooses to wear a costume, please ensure it:
- Does not include weapons or frightening, violent, or gory attire.
- Does not include full-face masks.
- Does not promote cultural appropriation.
- Is comfortable enough to wear throughout the school day and does not interfere with learning.
Students who choose to wear costumes must arrive at school already dressed. Alternatively, students can participate in Spirit Day by wearing orange and black or their grade colour.
Please do not send candy or other food to school for distribution to students.
We will also be hosting our first Bingo du vendredi of the school year! This fun activity helps build students' French vocabulary while strengthening our school community and celebrating French culture.
Our goal is to hold Bingo du vendredi monthly, beginning October 30 and continuing until the end of the school year.
