Dear families,
Student Dress Code
Students at King George dress respectfully for an active school environment, and comfortably for a variety of settings. Students wear clothing that is appropriate in length and coverage, reflects a positive image of the student and school, and contributes to a safe learning environment. Based on our belief in a “dress for work” concept, students select attire and dress mindfully by using good judgement and respecting themselves and others.
- Our pants, shorts, skirts, and tops do not reveal underclothing.
- We remove our hats, toques, hoods and caps when we enter the building, which does not apply to head coverings for religious or medical purposes.
- We wear and change our indoor and outdoor shoes accordingly, and our shoes are appropriate for physical education classes. Please have your child wear appropriate closed-toe footwear to school.
Friday Spirit Days
In recognition of all the hard work our students have been engaged in throughout the school year, we will be celebrating with Friday Spirit Days. Every Friday from now until the end of the school year, we will have some fun by having different dress up themes. Our first spirit day is Friday, May 24. The theme for this day will be backwards/inside out day!
Reminder - Celebration of Learning: Connection - to learning, to each other, to Community
Staff and students are excited to welcome parents/guardians to our celebration of learning night on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Our theme this year is Connection, and it is an opportunity for all of us to come together as a community. Families will travel together to various stations within the school. Each station reflects the learning your child has been engaged in all year and is tied to our School Development Plan. You will explore and play games together related to Literacy, Mathematics, Indigenous ways of knowing and being, and Well-Being for learning.
Due to our building capacity limits we will have two separate sessions, one at 4:00 PM and one at 5:30 PM. Please RSVP using the form below to indicate which session your family will attend.
