Weekly Update Jan. 29 - Feb. 2 | Planning Survey, Report Cards, Literacy Day, Walk to School Day
Dear families,
It’s hard to believe we’re now at the mid-way point in our year! Students have been working hard, and it’s amazing to see their development with the French language. This week, we had Elder John Snow work with our grade five students. He shared the message that diversity is strength. He also encouraged our Grade 5 students to be leaders within the community, as the younger students look up to them for guidance. We are thankful for his ongoing collaboration and look forward to our continued work over the school year.
Next Year Planning Survey
This is the time of year when we begin planning next school year’s organization, especially in terms of our enrolment and student population projections. Please fill out the survey below to indicate if your child/ren will attend King George School again next year. If you have any updates to your plans shared in this survey, kindly share this information with the office. If you have more than one child at King George School, please fill out one form for each child. Please note that there is a different form for students currently enrolled in Grade 5. We ask that this survey is filled out by February 2, 2024.

Our next parent-teacher conferences are March 21 and March 22. If you have any questions regarding your child’s learning prior to the learning conferences, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher.
Family Literacy Day – January 27
On Saturday January 27, it is Family Literacy Day. Family Literacy Day takes place every January 27th to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family. Taking time every day to read or do a learning activity with children is crucial to a child’s development, improving a child’s literacy skills dramatically, and can help a parent improve their skills as well. This year’s theme is Let’s have a family party! You can learn more about how to engage in Literacy Week with your child at home by searching these handles on social media: #WeAreCBE and #CBELiteracy
