Dear families,

Volunteer Tea – RSVP

You're warmly invited to a special Volunteer Tea on May 8 from 12:30pm - 2:00pm at our school as a heartfelt thank you for all the time, care, and support you’ve given throughout the year. Please join us for tea/coffee, cake, and good company as we celebrate the amazing difference you make in our school community.

Mental Health Week and Hats on for Mental Health Day – May 7

This year, Mental Health Week is May 5-9, and Hats On! for Mental Health Day is May 7. Students are invited to wear a hat to raise awareness of the importance of good mental health. We encourage students and teachers to participate in this day and build understanding by wearing hats to school. Students will also participate in lessons on understanding mental health and the importance of removing the stigma associated with mental illnesses.

Class Lists – Learning Buddies

To support our work on class lists, we invite families to fill out the survey below. Your child has the opportunity to share the names of three to five preferred classmates for the next school year. Please note that the names you provide are not necessarily your child’s best friend – they are students that support your child’s learning in a positive way. We will do our best to place your child in a class with one of these students. The deadline to fill out this survey is May 12, 2025.

Toys/Personal Items from Home

We are finding that students are bringing many toys and personal items from home. These include sport balls, toy ducks, action figures, etc. Please do not send your child to school with these items as they become a distraction, sometimes can be the cause of conflict, and may get lost or stolen. As a reminder, our priority is on student learning and when toys and personal items become the focus for conversation, it takes away from the support we can provide for learning. Please note that the school is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
