Dear families

Thank you to everyone who joined us for last night’s Celebration of Learning. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together, and it was exciting to see our students enthusiastically share their learning with you.

Wellness Day – May 30

Our annual King George School Wellness Day is next Friday! During this day, students will have the opportunity to learn about different aspects of wellness from a variety of community members. This year, we are welcoming Snowboard Alberta, Field Hockey Alberta, SUMMIT mental health centre, a dentist, yoga instructor, and Rams Rugby. Members of our CBE Inclusive Education team, M. Van Es (Physiotherapist) and Jessica Adams (Inclusive Learning Strategist), will also be joining us. We are thrilled to have some of our parents offering sessions as well!  Students will also be offered a healthy snack (a banana) during their nutrition break.

Grade 2, 3 and 5 students will be going on a walk to confederation park during our Wellness Day. This is the map of their walk, for your information:

Grade 4 Compost Workshop

Our Grade 4 students have started working with the Calgary Compost Cooperative this week. They will be learning about healthy soil, and how to compost. This initiative will also support our school garden, as we will be using the compost students create in our garden! Thank you to our School Council for their support with this initiative.
