Dear families of King George School,

We had an exciting and active week with our Alien In-line Skating. We wish to thank all volunteers who have helped to make this experience positive and extra fun!

2024-2025 School-Based Fees Engagement

Looking ahead to the next school year, we want to engage our parents/guardians on the amount we charge for school-based fees charged per student during the school year. Fees are unique for each student and are used to cover the cost of their specific activities, field trips, items or services.  Fees shall not be charged for:

a) textbooks; b) workbooks,; c) printing and photocopying; d) paper supplies; or e) instructional supplies and materials. For the 2023-2024 school year, Fees were capped at $90-100.
Please let us know what would be reasonable to charge, for the 2024-2025 school year, for you and your family by filling out this survey. It will take no more than 2 minutes to fill out and submit. Thank you.

Hats on! For Mental Health – May 8

Every year CMHA dedicates a week in May to raise awareness of Mental Health. This year Mental Health Week will run May 6-10, and Hats On! for Mental Health Day will take place on May 8. Albertans are invited to wear a hat to raise awareness of the importance of good mental health. We encourage students and teachers to participate in this day and build understanding by wearing hats to school. Students will also participate in lessons on understanding mental health and the importance of removing the stigma associated with mental illnesses.

Casino - June 15 & 16

Thank you to all those that signed up to volunteer for the Casino! We know how valuable your time is and appreciate your dedication to supporting King George School. We are still in need of 5 volunteers and 6 backup people available in case someone isn’t able to make it. You can sign up here

As a reminder, the fundraising casino is a big fundraiser, and we rely on those funds to enrich the academic and well-being programming for students. These funds will carry us through to the next 2-3 years and will greatly impact what we can offer students at King George.
