King George School TRC Calls to Action Commitment 2025-2026
In recognition of National Indigenous History Month in June and National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, CBE schools, service units, teams, and individuals look back on their current Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Commitment to Action to walk forward with a renewed commitment at the beginning of each school year.
King George School acknowledges and supports the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s (TRC) Calls to Action, and makes the following commitment to action for the 2025-2026 school year: In alignment with the CBE Holistic Lifelong Learning Framework, we will focus on the Body – To Do - Intentionally identify and design learning opportunities across the curriculum where Indigenous ways of knowing, doing, being, and belonging are authentically woven throughout. Students will be supported to experience their learning by the physical act of doing that happens through place. This includes the physical body, and the physical and natural environment. In making our commitment, Call to Action #62.2 offered inspiration. Our TRC Call to Action can also be found here.
