Jan. 15-19 | Registration, Report Cards, Volunteering, Webinar, Warm Feet For the Street, Branton Open House

Dear Families,

It was wonderful to come back from Winter Break and re-connect with our students. Seeing their smiling faces always brings us so much joy. We had a successful week of learning, despite the extreme cold and all the indoor recesses. Our Lunchroom staff did an incredible job getting organized ahead of time, with fun activities and games for our students, knowing we would have multiple “Blue Days” in a row. Please continue to send your child to school with full winter clothing (winter boots, snow pants, winter jacket, mittens/gloves, hat). Students will be going outside unless the temperature falls below –20 Degrees Celcius with the wind-chill. If you need any support with finding warm clothing for your children, please phone the main office. We are here to help.

Registration for the 2024-2025 School Year (for new/prospective students only)

Registration opens January 15, 2024. If you have a child entering Kindergarten or is currently not in Kindergarten and will be registering for the first time into Grade 1 for the 2024-2025 school year, please submit their registration in School Engage before February 13th at 12:00 PM MST. Students whose registrations are submitted prior to this deadline will be added to the lottery draw. For students who are currently registered at King George School, you do not have to register them again. They are automatically considered in our enrollment. Thank you.

Report Cards

Teachers are now finalizing assessment and report cards for the first term. Report cards will be available during the week of January 30 through the MyCBE portal. You will need to log in to view your child’s report card. A student’s report card corresponds to ongoing assessment done by their teachers. Assessing a student’s progress is one of the most important ways teachers support the continued learning of their students. You may have questions about your child’s report card, how your child is being assessed in school, and how to read and interpret the report card. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions.

Students who have Individual Program Plan’s will also receive an update at this time. If your child has an IPP, you will need to review the IPP, sign the signature page, and return the
signature page to your child’s teacher.

Volunteering in School

We want to remind parents that they need to have a valid volunteer police clearance completed through the school to volunteer for activities. If you do not have one completed yet, we encourage you to contact the front office to start the process. Thank you!
