Dear Families of King George School

We had a wonderful last week of school. We had Kindergarten celebration of learning, Grade 5 farewell, and Fun Day. Thank you to parents/guardians who were able to attend some of these events and for volunteering. We also had our year-end farewell assembly with our staff and students, we said goodbye to our grade 5 students and all students who will not be returning to King George School next year. It was an awesome way to end the year together.

Thank you to our amazing School Council for providing popsicles to all of our students on Fun Day and for the thoughtful and generous gifts of appreciation for every single one of our staff members. The staff is grateful to all of you and our supportive school community.

King George School is saying farewell to a few of our staff who will be moving on to new adventures. Mme Susan is retiring and the following teachers will be moving on to new experiences within the CBE:  M Young, Mme Julia, Mme Suzanne, Mme Jordan, Mme Joanne, and Mme Val.  We wish them all the best in their new schools and know that their future students and school communities are so lucky to have them.

We are pleased to be welcoming some new members to our staff.  The following teachers will be joining our team: Mme Eva Sénéchale, M. Patrick Coté, Mme Christina Wallace, Mme Grace Cameron, Mme Pascale Renaud, and our new French Immersion Music Specialist, Mme Rosie Crisp.  We are also welcoming our new Library Assistant, Mme Shahida Waseem; and our new French Education Assistant, Mme Hajar Eddahbi.

As I say goodbye to the 2023-2024 school year, I would like to personally thank all of you. I am thankful to have  the opportunity to be part of this incredible school community. Thank you for your warm welcome and support during my first year at King George School. To all families who will be staying I am excited and looking forward to our continued work together in 2024-2025.

With gratitude,

Mme Allison
