Dear families,

Next Year Class Placement

When we prepare class lists for the following school year, many considerations are made to ensure equity in the classroom. This includes balancing academic needs, social-emotional learning needs, and overall inclusivity and diversity. We have been receiving many requests from parents regarding who their child's best learning mates are. We want you to know that we do our best to factor these considerations into our planning, but there are no guarantees as we also need to consider the whole dynamic of the class. We have also been receiving classroom teacher requests – We cannot accommodate these types of requests. There may also be shifts in our grade team configurations where teachers will be assigned to new grades. These placements are still being confirmed. Our internal process is a rigorous one, and we ask that you trust us to ensure that your child will be placed in a class where they will be most successful.

Fundraising Casino – June 15 & 16

We have the chance to hold a casino every 2-3 years. The funds raised are significant and help support student learning and enrichment activities at the school. At this time, we have 17 volunteers – we need 45 volunteers total! If you can volunteer, please sign up here. If you would like to volunteer at the school, and cannot during the day due to other commitments, this is the volunteer opportunity that raises the most funds and has biggest impact overall. Thank you for your ongoing support!

Celebration of Learning - Save the Date!

On May 23, we will have a Celebration of Learning at the school from 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm. This event will highlight student learning in the areas of literacy, numeracy, well-being for learning, and the actions we committed to in relation to the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action. We are excited for this event and look forward to sharing student learning with you. More information will be shared about this event in the coming weeks.

Packing Extra Snacks

We have many students asking for extra snacks. We ask that parents pack some additional food for their child(ren). Please choose nutritious food that promotes growth and development. For more information and ideas of what is appropriate for your child at this age, visit the Nutrition Considerations for Children and Adolescents
