Dear Families of King George School,
Our hearts are filled with happiness after another successful Pancake Breakfast! We are incredibly grateful to our amazing School Council and to all the parents and guardians who volunteered their time to make this fun and memorable event possible for our entire school community.
Many students have shared how much they enjoyed the morning, and it was wonderful to hear their excitement. It was also lovely to see so many families come together and attend this special annual tradition. Events like these help strengthen the sense of community that makes our school such a welcoming and supportive place.

Dress for the Weather
As fall mornings arrive, we're starting to see more unpredictable weather and cooler temperatures. We encourage families to dress students in layers so they can stay comfortable throughout the day as temperatures change. Whenever possible, we love getting students outside for fresh air, learning, and play, so please send your child prepared for a variety of weather conditions. A light jacket, sweater, and appropriate footwear can go a long way in helping everyone enjoy outdoor time this season, even if the weather looks sunny in the morning. After all, Calgary likes to keep us guessing!
Parking In and Around the School
Thank you to all our families for supporting a smooth start to the school day by helping students arrive on time each morning. We know the morning rush can create congestion around the school, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation.
As a reminder, please refrain from parking in the staff parking lot, as staff members may need to come and go throughout the day and an empty space may only be temporarily available. For everyone's safety, student drop-off and pick-up are not permitted in any parking lot. Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe and running smoothly!
Individual Program Plans (IPPs)
Our teachers have been busy reviewing student files to better understand each learner's strengths and needs, and to plan the best supports for all students at King George School.
If your child has an Individual Program Plan (IPP), their teacher will be emailing an "Understanding Your Student" form for you to complete. Your input is an important part of the IPP, and we appreciate your support in returning the form to your child's teacher as soon as possible, and no later than September 21. At this time of year, teachers review current assessments and establish learning goals, strategies, and supports for the year ahead. Completed IPPs will be shared with families by October 9, 2026.
