Dear Families,

It is hard to believe we are at the end of May and have only 5 weeks of school remaining. However, summer vacation is not here yet and there is still a lot of important teaching and learning to do. As always regular attendance is extremely important.

There is a strong, positive correlation between attendance and a student’s success in school. Regular attendance sets students on the path to reaching their full potential. At CBE, we use a whole-school approach to attendance to strategically allocate our resources and create a positive culture where students feel a sense of belonging.

Class Lists – Learning Buddies

To support our work on class lists, we invite families to fill out the survey below. Your child has the opportunity to share the names of three to five preferred classmates for the next school year. Please note that the names you provide are not necessarily your child’s best friend – they are students that support your child’s learning in a positive way. We will do our best to place your child in a class with one of these students. The deadline to fill out this survey is Thursday, May 28, 2026.

Fun Lunch –Volunteers Needed May 28

Our next Fun Lunch is Thursday, May 28 from Subway. We always need MANY volunteers to make Fun Lunch happen. We currently do not have enough volunteer work. If you can volunteer, please sign up HERE.

This Saturday at 11:59 PM is the last day to order.

Walk and Bike to School Week

Beginning May 25- May 29 students and parents will have the opportunity to participate in the walk and bike to school week initiative. This is a school council event.

On May 27 there will be parent coffee and conversation with the school council about bike safety and bike bus.

The coffee station will be set up on the 9th street side of the playground at King George School.

We hope you can join us!

Reminder – Kindergarten/New Grade 1 Student Orientation

We will be hosting all future Kindergarten parents and students, as well as new grade 1 students, at an orientation from 6:00 – 7:30 PM on Thursday, June 4. We look forward to meeting our future students!

Family Movie Night – June 11

Our parent council will be hosting a FREE family movie night from 6:00 – 7:45 PM. More details to come.

Bus Registration Deadline – Sunday June 16

If you want your child to take the bus on the first day of school, please register for the bus on your Mycbe account.

Celebration of Learning – Save the Date

Please join us for our year-end celebration of learning on June 18. We will have two sperate sessions:

Session # 2| 5:15-6:00PM
