AIt was lovely to celebrate the learning our Kindergarten students at their assembly on Thursday, which also happened to be the International Day for French Immersion in Canada! We are all so proud of their progress in French Oral Language acquisition. Bravo les maternelles!
In Line Skating
We will be having In Line skating starting May 4 until June 1. You are welcome to send your child’s helmet labeled with their name for them to use otherwise there will be helmets for students to use as well as other protective equipment supplied by the vendor.
Yellow Steps Residency
Our Yellow Steps residency will begin May 7 and continue until June 2. Each class will have the opportunity to engage in place-based learning while developing their French vocabulary and oral language acquisition. Thank you to our School Council for their help in subsidizing this program, and for the grant we applied for through Official Languages in Education Program (OLEP), to also help subsidize the cost of the program and keep costs minimal for our families.
Walk to School Week
King George School Council will once again promote active transportation. May 18-22 will be walk to school week. Stay tuned for more information.
